(Explanation of the glossing system)

AMERICA FLAG HONORIFIC-INDEX-rt ME PROMISE SUPPORT. WHY? IT-flag REPRESENT GOVERNMENT HERE, AMERICA "U" "S" "A". AMERICA GOVERNMENT BELIEVE WHAT? WE AMERICA (2h)#ALL ONE* COUNTRY. GOD LOOK-DOWN-from-above SUPERVISE-below PROTECT-below. SEPERATE"each" NO-NO. COOPERATE MUST. PLUS GOVERNMENT PROMISE #ALL-OF-YOU FEEL (<) SAFE, (>) HAVE EQUALITY, WILL.

Notes: HONORIFIC-INDEX - Point to the flag with the FT of [B] , PO up. I wrote the gloss as if the flag were at the right, but obviously you should point to where ever it is in the room as the Pledge is being recited.

(2h)#ALL - (2h)[A], POs ><, FOs up, then both hands move forward while opening to (2h)[L].

ONE* - the emphatic form of "one" with the PO > signer and moves upward emphaticlaly.

SEPERATE"each" - take the base sign SEPERATE and produce it several times while altering the palm orientations of the hands to show different groups in different places separating.

NO-NO - [1], PO away, FO up, shaken from side to side.

#ALL-OF-YOU - starts with [A], PO > NDS, FO up, sweeps in an arc like the plural form of "you" while opening to an [L].

Lyrics:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands: One nation, indivisible, [under God] with liberty and justice for all.
