Kuwait Sign Language Dictionary is considered to be the first of its kind in the middle east. It was developed by KISR with the help from sign language specialists from Kuwait special Schools. It contains more than 2200 Arabic and Kuwaiti words. It has two parts, the Dictionary and the Test. The dictionary represents each word by an image, finger spelling and a video clip showing the sign of the selected word. The dictionary can be browsed alphabetically or by subject. The other part is the Test, which helps the user in practicing the sign language.
Pre-School Sign Language Dictionary. This dictionary was developed with a sub-set of words of the USLD. This sub-set was selected as the basic words the deaf children should know in their first years before they enter the school. This dictionary was distributed to parents of deaf children as well as kindergarten schools in Kuwait.

The Stockholm Challenge Award 2001. Improving quality of life of the blind and deaf. We at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), have conducted a series of projects. I will try to list them and go over some of their accomplishments:
